What is the cake cutting event?
The cutting of the cake symbolizes the couple’s shared future together as a married couple. This is why each shares a piece of the cake.
The wedding couple cuts the cake, one hand on top of the other, surrounded by friends and family. Tradition says the groom’s right hand must be on top of the bride’s hand but you can do what feels right and comfortable for you.
